The 'Trace Awards & Festival' will be held for the second time, moved to Zanzibar City on 24-26 February 2024 where awards will be presented to the best performers.
The 'Trace Awards & Festival' event was held for the first time in the City of Kigali on October 21, 2023. In the ceremony to give awards to African artists who have done well, the last one held in Rwanda was aired on over 22 television stations of the Trace Group which celebrated its 20th anniversary.
At that time, artists with big names in almost all African countries and beyond, danced to the delight of the participants and thanked the Trace Group for organizing the event.
Those who sang at the event included those from Rwanda such as Bruce Melodie, Bwiza and Chriss Eazy while those from around the world danced including Diamond Platnumz, Davido, Pheelz, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Musa Keys, Zuchu, Juma Jux, Nadia Mukami and ' others.
Nigerians Davido and Rema have won the most awards at the Trace Awards 2023. They won two each. Davido won the award for 'Best Male Artist', Best Male Artist and Best Collaboration Song for 'Unavailable' featuring Musa Keys from South Africa.
Rema won 'Best Global Africa Artist', Best African Artist and Song of the Year for 'Calm Down'.
