The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was inspired by artificial intelligence (AI) when it announced the country's candidacy to the United Nations Security Council.

On December 18, 2024, this Ministry announced that RDC wants to be in the UN Security Council for the term of 2026-2027.

When he came to repeat the message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, he asked AI to include important words such as "RDC is ready to raise the voice of countries for peace and security at the world level."

Instead of the Ministry taking the first message based on the instructions it gave to AI, it replaced it with "Here insert the key word, like RDC is ready..."

Journalist Sugira Mireille of Voice of Kivu, after seeing this announcement, said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is caught in a vacuum, it failed to write an announcement without using ChatGPT. It didn't even manage to pass my eyes before publishing it. A slander on the country!"

This message has been deleted only by hackers who had already photographed it as it happened, and used it before it disappeared on X's social media.
