The President of
the International Motor Racing Association (FIA), Mohammed Ben Sulayem, has
welcomed the participants of its General Assembly and awards ceremony to be
held in Kigali.
Through his
videos posted on the social media of the National Development Agency (RDB),
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, first showed that history is about to be written.
He said, “For the
first time in nearly 120 years, history continues to be written where for the
first time our Annual General Assembly will be held in Africa, in the city of
Kigali in Rwanda. We hope that your time in this beautiful African country will
leave you with an unforgettable memory.”
President
Mohammed Ben Sulayem added that apart from attending the conference, there is
much that people can see in Rwanda through its tourism.
He said, "If
you want to stay longer, we thank Visit Rwanda because there are places where
you can see the best, including a visit to the volcano park where geese live,
which are rare in the world."
He added that the
planned meeting will be a good opportunity for the members of this association,
in celebrating its 120 years, to look together at how the last year went and
prepare for the next one.
The FIA meeting
will be held on December 13, 2024, in conjunction with the organization's other
activities, including the awarding of excellence in major championships
including Formula 1.
