The Vice President of CHADEMA, which is in opposition to the Tanzanian government, Tundu Lisu, expressed that there are those who want to create divisiveness among its senior leaders.
Lisu explained that while he wants to run for the position of Chief Executive of this party, there are those who are trying to clash with Freeman Mbowe who is already in charge.
He said, "I was called by a powerful person in the country, who advised me to increase my security and remain very independent."
The politician explained to Clouds Media that this person told him that he was asked to pursue this matter because there is an evil plan to cause serious problems for the country.
Lissu said that what these people want to do is to attack him, and then lie to Mbowe that he is the one behind to start a fight.
He said, “They want to destroy me, and then blame it on Chairman Mbowe. I was asked to do everything possible to prevent it.”
The Chief of Police in Dar es Salaam, Jumanne Muliro, announced that a thorough investigation is needed to see if what Lissu said is true.
He reminded that this body has the responsibility to protect all citizens and their property.
