The Ambassador of Rwanda to the United States of America, Mathilde Mukantabana received talks with the Ambassadors of the African continent Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick and Jonathan L. Jackson who are members of the United States Parliament.

These talks, which took place on December 11, 2024, were aimed at looking together at how the relationship between the United States and Africa would become more rooted.

Attendees addressed a variety of business-related issues, including the priorities of the recently elected US Congress.

It was also a good opportunity to discuss the upcoming initiative known as the 'Africa Strategic Trade and Investment Partnership Caucus', which aims to further develop cooperation between the US and Africa.

Ambassador Mukantabana expressed the importance of reforming relations and cooperation between continents, especially as the world is changing. He said, "Africa is one of the most promising regions of the 21st century.

Africa is a continent full of opportunities, innovation and resilience, and we see the United States as an important partner in leveraging our shared potential for sustainable development."

Cherfilus-McCormick, who was recently elected for a third term in the United States Parliament, expressed the importance of coordinating efforts in implementing the programs of African countries.

His colleague, Jackson, expressed the need for a better way to consult with African diplomats to achieve common goals, especially in terms of AGOA, which gives opportunities to different countries in sub-Saharan Africa to do business with the United States.
