After a few hours of fighting, the coalition of the RDC State Forces wants to take back the lost units, on December 4, it again attacked the M23 bases in Lubero including Kaseghe, Alimbongo, Utwe and Mathembe.

On the road connecting Kaseghe and Kirumba business center, which is one of the most important in Lubero, fighting broke out since the morning of December 5, after the RDC government forces again attacked the M23 checkpoint.

. Residents in the center of Kirumba reported that it was the first time they heard the sound of guns being used in the fighting, and that they were worried that they might run away.

The sides are using heavy weapons in this fight. Most of the people who live in the areas where the fighting is going on, have stopped their development activities and fled to safety.
