President Paul Kagame met with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane, to discuss ways to improve relations between this country and Rwanda.

 The Prime Minister of Lesotho came to Rwanda for the YouthConnect conference, which is being held at the Kigali Convention Center from November 8, 2024.

 The Office of the Head of State, Village Urugwiro, confirmed this news saying "President Kagame met with Prime Minister Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane of the Kingdom of Lesotho, who came to Rwanda to participate in YouthConnect2024.

 They discussed strengthening the relationship between Rwanda and the Kingdom of Lesotho.” 

Lesotho is a country in Southern Africa, with an area of ​​30,355 square kilometers. King Letsie III ruled from 1990 to 1995 and from 1996 to the present.

In October 2024, when the Prime Minister, Dr Edouard Ngirente joined the people of Lesotho to celebrate 200 years of the country's existence and 58 years of independence, he and Prime Minister Matekane signed a cooperation agreement in name of both countries.

 This agreement is aimed at looking at the possibility of new cooperation that came after these other countries, including the development of the security system, was signed in August 2021.
