President Kagame assured cooperation Dr. Netumbo was elected to lead Namibia 4-12-2024 - at 15:37, Serge loves us President Paul Kagame praised Dr. Netumbo Ndemupelila Nandi-Ndaitwah on his victory in the presidential election in Namibia, assuring him that Rwanda is ready to continue the cooperation between the two countries. The news that Dr. Netumbo Ndemupelila was the winner of the Presidential elections announced on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

 He had 57% of the votes, followed by Panduleni Itula who got 26%. He was presented as a candidate by the ruling party, 'South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO)'. President Kagame, through the X social media, congratulated the 72-year-old woman for the success she achieved.

 He went on to say that this victory is “a lasting sign of the confidence of the people of Namibia. Rwanda is ready to continue the mutually beneficial cooperation between our two countries."

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is the first woman elected to lead Namibia.

 He was already the Vice President. Other roles this woman has held include being the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Environment and Tourism and spent a long time as a member of the Parliament. After his victory he said that "Namibia has voted for peace and security." 

Dr. Netumbo Ndemupelila Nandi-Ndaitwah succeeds Dr. Nangolo Mbumba came to power in February 2024, after the sudden death of Hage Geingob who was leading the country. Rwanda and Namibia are countries that have a very strong relationship that President Kagame has made several trips to that country. 

In addition to the fact that the two countries are related to the Commonwealth, they work together in the security sector where the Rwandan and Namibian Police have a cooperation agreement and in February 2024, on behalf of President Paul Kagame, Prime Minister, Dr. . Edouard Ngirente, went to the funeral of Dr. Hage Geingob ruled Namibia.
