Air Tanzania has
announced that it has resumed flights to South Africa, five years after it was
suspended due to problems that led to the arrest of its aircraft.
Air Tanzania has
announced that it has resumed these flights on Saturday 30 November 2024. It
will fly to the country five times a week.
It was in 2019
that Air Tanzania stopped traveling to South Africa after its Airbus 220-300
aircraft was seized at the Johannesburg airport.
He was arrested
following an injunction issued by the Gauteng High Court, due to a lawsuit
filed by a financier who accused the Tanzanian Government of extorting $33
million from him, due to illegal land acquisition. Sources say that this issue
has been resolved so far.
