The government of Uganda announced that it was satisfied with the way Rwanda is handling the Maburg virus outbreak, in order to prevent it from spreading to other countries.

Rwanda's behavior in suppressing Marburg was reiterated by the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health in Uganda in charge of primary care, Margaret Muhanga Mugisa.

According to information from the Ministry of Health, Margaret Muhanga Mugisa, visited the center in Rwanda that is involved in the fight against Marburg, met with doctors and a group of Ugandans in Rwanda who are helping to fight this epidemic.

Margaret Muhanga Mugisa said that Rwanda's behavior gives hope to suppress this epidemic.

He said, "I am satisfied with the way Rwanda fought against Marburg and I am happy that it is not beyond this country[…] I met with those who are at the front of the fight against Marburg[…] I liked the way in using robots to provide information and measure the fire, it is very good, the technology is up.”

“The second thing that made me happy was to see a group of Ugandans here who came to help in the fight against Marburg. It says a lot in this Great Lakes region, that we are especially needed when it comes to fighting these diseases.”

Marburg patients in Rwanda began to appear on September 27, 2024. So far, 66 people have been infected, 15 have died, 49 have recovered, while two have been treated.
