The International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) in Rwanda has once again provided training for senior karate instructors. The session, held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, marked the fourth such training this year, following similar sessions in July, August, and September. It brought together experienced instructors from various teams across the country, including 20 new participants who had not attended previous sessions.
Jean Marie Vianney Nduwamungu, an international Shotokan Karate instructor, explained that the training was organized to refine techniques in the sport. He praised all participants, noting that the training is proving effective, with noticeable improvements in the level of the sport. He emphasized the goal of elevating the instructors' skills, with plans to bring in a higher-level coach to ensure that all karate practitioners in Rwanda reach an international standard.
Mugisha Marriam, one of the instructors who attended the training, highlighted the significant benefits gained and encouraged more women to participate in sports, especially martial arts like karate. Eric Ahmed, who has attended all four sessions this year, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and urged other instructors to join future sessions, emphasizing the importance of the knowledge shared.
At the close of the training, participants were informed that similar sessions are scheduled for early November 2024. They were also encouraged to work together in unity and mutual respect to further advance Shotokan Karate in Rwanda.
