On November 16, 2024, India tested its first supersonic bomb. The missile, which was tested on Abdul Kalam Island, is said to have a range of over 1,500 km.

India's Defense Research Organization (DRDO) announced that the test was a success.

The blast was carried out by DRDO experts in Hyderabad city in collaboration with various partners. India's Defense Minister, Rajnath Singh, welcomed the test, saying it is a major step that puts India among the few countries with advanced weapons technology.

At the international level, Russia, China, and the United States of America are the most advanced countries in the production of these explosives that move at an extraordinary speed.
