The Executive Committee of the World Football Association, FIFA, has confirmed that it is going to start an investigation into the allegations made by the Palestinian Authority against Israel regarding human rights violations.

This is one of the decisions made by the Executive Committee that held a meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, where they asked the ethics committee to monitor the Palestinian issue to see if it is valid.

In May of this year, Palestine asked FIFA to ban Israel from all football activities, as it did against Russia, accusing it of attacking it illegally.

On top of this, Palestine has accused Israel of discriminating against Arab players, while there are six teams that play in the Israeli League and are already based in the Palestinian area of the West Bank.

The leadership of the Palestinian Football Association added that so far 250 players have been killed in Israeli attacks, most of them playing football. They added that various infrastructures including stadiums were destroyed by the country in an unjustified manner.

The FIFA Executive Committee on Thursday, October 3, confirmed that it is going to conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations, where it will release a decision on the outcome shortly.

FIFA concluded by announcing that it continues to be concerned about the ongoing wars in the Middle East, where, as they announced in its 74th Congress, what they are asking all parties to do is to do everything possible to find peace.
