On Monday, September 30, 2024, EdTech Monday will focus on the important role that parents play in supporting technology-based education for students. The discussion will explore how technological innovations in education can ease the learning process, particularly in regions with limited technological access.
The event, organized by the Mastercard Foundation and broadcast on KT Radio, will address strategies for helping parents assist their children in adapting to technology-based learning, especially in rural areas where access to technology is still limited. It will also examine policies that can enable parents to become more involved in their children's education through technology.
The program will highlight the efforts of non-governmental organizations in bridging the gap between schools and parents, ensuring parents are more engaged in their children's tech-based education. Participants will discuss how to empower parents to encourage students to use technology for self-development in their studies.
Additionally, the discussion will review the latest data showing how EdTech platforms are helping parents support their children’s education and offer insights on how parents can contribute more effectively.
Challenges faced by parents in monitoring their children’s education via technology will also be discussed, with a focus on new solutions to overcome these obstacles. Furthermore, the event will look at the steps Rwanda has taken to promote technology-based education and the collaborative efforts required between the government, education entrepreneurs, and NGOs to enhance parental involvement in this field.
