The Government of Rwanda announced that the Federation of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and groups including the FDLR, Wazalendo, the Burundian Army, Iza SADC and the European mercenaries had plans to attack.

It is information based on documents and other evidence found after Goma City was captured by M23, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda this Sunday morning, February 2, 2025.

In a statement released, Rwanda pointed out that the South African Economic and Development Community (SADC) forces in the DRC saying that they were invited by the Government of the DRC, is baseless because they are against the people of that country and ending the war on Rwanda.

It says that "The latest news from Goma has already been revealed with concrete evidence that shows the preparations for the attack prepared with the foreign forces fighting in the East of the DRC, including the FDLR, showing that the purpose of the fighting is not only to defeat M23 but to attack Rwanda.”

Rwanda has continued to show that a political solution is needed to resolve the ongoing conflict, and supports the plan of the meeting that will unite the East African Community EAC and SADC.

Rwanda also denounced the accusations against its Armed Forces in the announcement of the decisions of the Special Council of Heads of State of the SADC that met on January 31, 2025.

In the announcement, SADC stated that the Rwandan Army is cooperating with the M23 Movement which is against the government of the RDC because of the injustice and neglect of the Tutsis in that country, especially those who use the Ikinyarwanda language.

Rwanda has shown that the RDF protects the sovereignty of the country and the borders of Rwanda from attacks that can be carried out in order to protect civilians, so they cannot attack the civilians of another country.

SADC forces in a mission called SAMIDRC entered the Democratic Republic of the Congo in December 2023 to replace the East African Community which had a mission to quell the fighting between the FARDC and M23 government forces and restore peace. in the East of that country.

They had a period of one year but at the end of 2024, they were extended to continue helping the Tshisekedi regime to fight the M23 group and achieve his plan to invade Rwanda.

Rwanda reiterated that the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo has often indicated that the country should attack Rwanda and remove its leadership as often announced by President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi.

It continued to show that the SADC Army and other groups do not belong in the DRC because they are contributing to the conflict rather than solving it.

He said, "It is clear that SAMIDRC and the alliance of armed forces that include Burundi, FDLR and European mercenaries are the cause of the conflict, they should not be there because they would increase the problems that already exist."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, recently announced that Rwanda has information that the Democratic Republic of the Congo may be attacked at any time, so that is the reason why it has increased the security on its borders with this country.

He said, “We received news that every hour the RDC would attack Rwanda. That's why we have put in place security measures that will remain in place until it is clear that the problem and those obstacles have been resolved.

We are protecting our borders to fight the provocations of the RDC armed group.”

This information from the Government of Rwanda is in line with what was announced by the Coordinator of the AFC (Alliance Fleuve Congo) which includes political and armed groups such as ARC/M23, Corneille Nangaa, who said that the weapons they saw when they captured Goma show that there was another plot at work than against the M23.
