The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in charge of Regional Cooperation, Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe, has revealed that the stupid mentality is behind the decision to send the South African Army to fight in the East. of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in collaboration with the FDLR group that committed genocide in Rwanda.
Gen (Rtd) Kabarebe expressed this in a comment on his X wall, when he responded to a message broadcast by National Television in South Africa of an interview he had with the former head of the intelligence service in that country. Lt Gen (Rtd) Maomela Motau.
The man told the journalist that Rwanda is the source of the problems that have been going on for many years in the DRC, although it does not stop showing that it has nothing to do with it.
Lt Gen (Rtd) Maomela said that President Cyril Ramaphosa should not look at the fact that he is asking for peace talks, but he should do something quickly on Rwanda, although he failed to explain whether he wants to start a war on Rwanda or send special envoys.
He said, “Rwanda used to deny everything, we are used to it. Our intelligence operations are still ongoing in the District and we know exactly where the problem is. President Ramaphosa knows that Rwanda is a problem. There must be action.”
Gen (Rtd) Kabarebe said that this man, during his time as a leader, supported those who disagreed with the Rwandan government who lived in South Africa at that time, which is why he accused Rwanda of lying.
He said, "It is such a stupid and mediocre mindset that is behind the deployment of the South African Army to fight in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in collaboration with the FDLR group that has committed genocide in Rwanda and European mercenaries, killing innocent Tutsis from North Kivu fighting for their right to live."
On the other hand, President Kagame also recently contradicted Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, who called the Rwandan Army [RDF] rebels, and said that they were involved in the death of his soldiers who were on mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a long message he recently announced on X, President Ramaphosa said that after the fighting in Eastern DRC, the country he leads has lost 13 soldiers who were on a 'peace mission'.
He said, “This fight was initiated by the armed group of M23 and the rebels of the Rwandan Army, RDF, in opposition to the Congolese Army, FARDC. They attacked the troops of the SADC peacekeeping mission in the DRC known as SAMIDRC.”
In response to this leader's message, President Kagame reminded him that this week the two have talked twice, including the one held on January 29, 2025, all of which revolved around the security of Eastern DRC.
However, the Head of State said that what was said in the media by South African leaders including President Ramaphoza himself included distortions of the facts, deliberate attacks and lies.
He said that if what was said in private discussions is far from what was shown in public, it clearly shows how the issues are being dealt with, and sheds light on what was discussed.
He said “RDF is a military not a rebel. SAMIDRC is not a peacekeeping force and has no place in these things.”
President Kagame said that SAMIDRC is an army authorized by SADC, to help the RDC against its people, in collaboration with genocidal groups such as the FDLR, which always wants to disrupt the security of Rwanda, and which itself always threatens to attack Rwanda.

Regarding President Ramaphosa's announcement that his country's soldiers were killed 'due to attacks by M23 and RDF', President Kagame expressed that it seems to be true, because in the conversation between the two, this South African leader he himself admitted that he was killed by the FARDC instead of the M23.
