Bugesera FC vs Rayon Sports match to continue where it left off
The Rwanda Football Association (FEWAFA) Competitions Commission has decided that the match between Bugesera FC and Rayon Sports, which was stopped prematurely due to insecurity, will be resumed on Wednesday and will continue in the 57th minute.

The match on the 28th day of the Championship, which took place at Bugesera Stadium on Saturday, May 17, 2025, was stopped due to riots.

Bugesera FC was leading 2-0, with the second goal scored by Umar Abba on a penalty kick, which was the source of the riots, as fans began throwing stones on the pitch.

After more than 15 minutes of the match being stopped, the referees, including its Commissioner, Munyemana Hudu, concluded that it was stopped “due to insecurity”.

The FERWAFA Competitions Commission meeting held on Monday, based on the report of the Referees Commission and the report of the Security Commission, concluded that the match will continue at the 57th minute, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

FERWAFA also announced that the match will be played without fans, with only members of the club's executive committee allowed to attend.

Bugesera FC will go into this match in 12th place with 31 points while Rayon Sports are in second place with 59 points, two points behind first-place APR FC.
