Nigeria: 23 people killed in terrorist attack
At least 23 farmers and fishermen have been killed and others kidnapped in an attack suspected of being carried out by the militant group in the north of the country, residents told Reuters. Residents told Reuters that Boko Haram fighters had attacked the area and captured farmers and fishermen, killing 23 and abducting many others. Residents tried to collect the bodies but were chased away by the Boko Haram fighters. Last month, the governor of Borno state in Nigeria confirmed that Boko Haram had resumed attacks and kidnappings. This comes after the government had said the area had been restored to security.
