Loving Arsenal, tired of money and the World Cup – Cristiano Ronaldo reveals

Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed a lot about his personal life, including how he had so much money that he felt he was useless, his love for Arsenal, his time at Manchester United and his lack of concern for the World Cup in order to become the world’s number one.

These are some of the things he said in a special interview with his close friend Piers Morgan, which aired on their YouTube channels on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Piers Morgan first asked him why his studio in Saudi Arabia did not have an Arsenal shirt, which he had given him as a gift, given that the player was close to playing in it.

Ronaldo said: “It’s kept nearby, it’s just happened, when I look at Arsenal I don’t see them as our opponents because I know they’re close to being there. I like the way they play and I’m happy with their success, mainly because of that story.”

“I didn’t go there because of football, but I’m not going to lie because I don’t like it. My life hasn’t changed much because I haven’t played it. It would have been better if I had. Maybe this year they would win the English Championship, but that could also change because it’s a very tough competition.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his disappointment with the current state of Manchester United in England, and reiterated that they need to change more than just sacking the manager or players.

He believes that miracles do not happen, but that everything is a struggle, but they should all learn from their mistakes and understand what Manchester United is all about because it is a dream team for young people and an honor for adults, especially those who played for them.

Being a millionaire is not a miracle

Morgan asked Ronaldo if he was surprised to become the first footballer to become a millionaire, saying that it was something he knew would happen to him and that he realized that there are other things that are better than having a lot of money.

He said, “I didn’t become a billionaire last week, it happened many years ago. I don’t know 100% how much money I have but I try to know because you have to take care of your things. I don’t do it very often but I have people who look after me. I call someone every day and ask about money and how my investments are doing.”

“I knew this would happen and I wasn’t surprised, it was just a matter of time. I was very happy like when you win any trophy. I don’t get carried away by money, yes it helps but at some point you realize it’s no use because there are other things that are more important, but you keep looking for it as a person.”

Cristiano says that since childhood he dreamed of becoming a great player who would win individual trophies and the Champions League, and he achieved it, which is what made him money.

This man, who does not know how many cars he owns so far, the most expensive thing in his life is his personal Bombardier BD-700-1A10 Global Express XRS plane, which cost him over $50 million.

He said, “The most expensive thing in my life is the plane. I have driven nice cars, I have bought nice shops and so on. I cannot count the cars I own because they are so many that I do not know how many, and I swear to the truth on my children. I like Bugatti cars but I will not drive them either, I just look at them and then move on.”

He does not give any importance to all this, but what worries him is living the life of a normal person because he has achieved everything he wanted in his life.

Winning the World Cup is not a dream

He also said that the fact that he has not won the World Cup like his teammate Lionel Messi, he does not consider it too special for him.

He said, “Winning the World Cup is not my dream. Why do you think that a six or seven-game tournament would confirm you as the best player in the history of the world? Does that make sense?”

The 40-year-old also spoke about his family, where he revealed that he is not yet engaged to Georgina Rodríguez and that he proposed to her late because it was a decision he had to think about.
