Al Hilal SC, which will play in the Rwandan Premier League, arrived in Kigali, receiving a special welcome





Al Hilal SC Omdurman, one of two Sudanese teams that will play in the Rwandan Premier League, arrived in Kigali, where they were received by the Sudanese Ambassador to Rwanda, Khalid Musa Dafalla Musa, and some fans.

The team arrived at the Kigali International Airport in Kanombe, in the early hours of Friday, October 31, 2025.

The Commissioner for Competitions of the Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA), Niyitanga Desire, who was there to receive the team, said that they will play their first match no later than November 5, 2025.

He said, “We came to receive this team because they are our guests and Rwandans are known for their hospitality. It is expected that these teams will play the matches on Day Seven, but between November 4 and 5, they will play their first match.”

Al Hilal SC manager, Yasir Hassan Ibrahim, thanked FERWAFA for accepting their invitation to play in the Rwandan Premier League.

He said, “We are grateful for the way they welcomed us and for accepting our request to play in the Rwanda Premier League. We are in the CAF Champions League groups and we hope that this league will provide us with good preparation.”

Another Sudanese team, Al-Merrikh, is expected to arrive in Rwanda on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

The Rwandan Premier League is on Saturday, so these teams will play like regulars as they will immediately continue where they left off.
