The UPRONA party accused the Burundian government of imposing ignorance
Burundi's opposition party UPRONA has accused President Evariste Ndayishimiye's CNDD-FDD of hiring only its members, ignoring the skills needed to develop the country.

As UPRONA campaigned for parliamentary and local government positions in Rumonge province on May 18, 2025, the party's president, Olivier Nkurunziza, said that the CNDD-FDD was promoting a culture of exclusion and exclusion of professionals.

He said, "Many capable young people stay at home while those who do not have the qualifications are given jobs simply because they are CNDD-FDD members."

Nkurunziza also pointed out that the CNDD-FDD does not value teachers and researchers, especially those at the University of Burundi, who are the foundation of the country's development.

He said that diplomats representing Burundi abroad are not doing their job properly, as if their country is no longer interested in having good relations with other countries.

The politician said that Burundians need leaders who value knowledge and strive for the common good, rather than only promoting those in one party.
