The sixth batch of SAMIDRC equipment was delivered via Rwanda.
The Southern African Development Community (SAIDRC) has withdrawn its sixth batch of equipment from the M23 rebel group via Rwanda. SAMIDRC began withdrawing its equipment on April 29, 2025, in line with the decision taken by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State on March 13, 2025, to terminate its mission. In the last five batches, it has focused on withdrawing equipment through Rwanda and then on to Tanzania. At around 6:30 p.m. on May 19, 2025, the vehicles departed from Rugerero in Rubavu District and proceeded towards Musanze-Kigali. Most of the SAMIDRC soldiers are still in their camps in Goma and the outskirts of Sake, as they decided to leave their equipment behind and leave first.
