Customers of Ugandan national carrier Uganda Airlines have been complaining about flight delays and other irregularities.
Ugandan media reports say that for the past few days, Uganda Airlines customers have been stranded at Entebbe airport due to the airline’s flight schedule.
The issue came to light after footage emerged showing passengers and their luggage standing at the Uganda Airlines terminal, saying they were unable to find a staff member to assist them.
On December 10, 2025, Uganda Airlines passengers were scheduled to depart Entebbe for Zanzibar, but their flight was postponed to the following day.
One of those who raised the issue is journalist Andrew Mwenda, who said that one of the Uganda Airlines flights was delayed in Lagos and another in London, causing most of the flights to be delayed.
Another person who spoke on condition of anonymity said that a flight to Dubai was scheduled to use an Airbus 330-800neo, but Uganda Airlines ended up booking more tickets than the number of people the plane could carry. This is said to have caused some people to be left behind.
Uganda Airlines spokesperson Shakila Rahim said that there were indeed problems, but denied that there were any overbookings.
She said, “On Sunday, people booked Airbus tickets to Dubai, but they had technical issues, so we are using a smaller plane, on a first-come, first-served basis.”
Shakila Rahim said that many of the problems they are facing are due to technical issues that may arise.
