The Ben reveals his favorite Ugandan artists
The Ben, who is in Uganda for a concert, highlighted artists who have made a name for themselves in the country, including Ray G, Joshua Baraka and Laika, and said he loves the art they do.
The artist arrived in the country on May 16, 2025, where he will be performing at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, May 17, 2025, to promote his album ‘The Plenty Love’. He spoke to the media after his tour of the country.
The artist was asked about Ugandan artists in this interview. In response, he mentioned various artists, including those from the old generation and those who are currently in the country.
He said, “I am a big fan of Ugandan music. I know Ray G, Joshua Baraka and Laika (The Ben then sang one of the girl’s songs). I follow Ugandan music a lot.”
Laika is a 27-year-old girl who comes from a family of musicians like Alpha Rwirangira and their cousin AY, a famous Tanzanian rapper.
The Ben, who was born and raised in Uganda, also expressed his admiration for other famous artists from the country, citing Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine as examples.
In the upcoming concert, Element EléeeH and Symphony Band are expected to be among her supporters.
Apart from these artists from Rwanda, the show will also feature other artists including Irene Ntale, Ray G, DJ Spinny and Omario from Tanzania.
It will be headlined by MC Mariachi while comedians include Maulana and Reign and Dr Hilary Okello.
Admission to the show is UGX 150,000 (about Rwf 60,000), while a VIP table is UGX 400,000 (about Rwf 160,000) and a table that seats eight is UGX 3 million (about Rwf 1.2 million).
