Popular Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has secured bail set at GH¢10 million with two sureties, granted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
His bail followed an invitation on Wednesday to aid investigations into the purchase of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which authorities seized from his residence in June.
The luxury ride is reportedly tied to proceeds of a $4 million crime involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian currently serving an 86 month prison sentence in the United States.
During interrogation, Shatta Wale insisted he bought the vehicle from a man identified as “Zak” via WhatsApp, but failed to provide any receipts or transfer records to back his claim of ownership.
