“In agriculture, we mainly see the contribution of export crops, which increased by 65%, while domestic crops increased by 4%. Coffee production increased by 32% and coffee will increase by 100%,” said Ivan Murenzi, Director General of the National Institute of Statistics.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Yusuf Murangwa, declared that this 11.8% growth is “good” because it is within the approved NST2 program where the economy will grow at least by 9%.
He said that the figures show that since the beginning of this year “we are still within the range of what we had planned for this year”.
Manufacturing grew by 10%, mainly due to construction equipment manufacturers, whose production increased by 20%.
