The Embassy of Rwanda in Ethiopia, in collaboration with Queen Nyabinghi East Africa and Bridge Investment Consultancy, hosted for the third time the ‘Africa Business Link Forum’, aimed at showing investors the opportunities available in the Rwandan market and how to capitalize on them. The meeting was held on May 15, 2025, with the aim of continuing the program to promote investment and trade relations between Rwanda and Ethiopia. The meeting was attended by heads of major Ethiopian companies, entrepreneurs and other leaders of various private sectors. It aimed to provide them with information and opportunities to invest in Rwanda in sectors including tourism, technology, agriculture, energy, industry and housing. Ambassador Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Charles Karamba, Rwanda’s representative to Ethiopia, stressed that Rwanda has opened its doors to Ethiopian investors.
He said, “This meeting aims to highlight the investment opportunities in Rwanda and facilitate cooperation between investors from both countries.” The good relations between Rwanda and Ethiopia are based on cooperation in trade, agriculture, health, energy, sports and culture. Ambassador Karamba also highlighted Rwanda’s economy which grew by 8.9% in 2024, showing those interested in investing in the country that they will be making a good investment. He added, “Rwanda is not an island; it offers diverse markets that extend beyond its borders. With access to the EAC and ECCAS markets, investors benefit from a population of over 400 million in the region.” One of the decisions taken was that in September or October 2025, there will be a trade mission that will take Ethiopian investors to Rwanda, where they will explore opportunities and meet with Rwandan investors. Ambassador Karamba said, “We should build a relationship based on mutual benefits, where opportunities become wealth that unites our two countries.” The summit solidified Rwanda as a safe investment destination.
