Rayon Sports president, Twagirayezu Thaddée, has confirmed that the club has parted ways with its former coach, Afahamia Lotfi, after a month of suspension.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the 30-day suspension given to coach Lotfi ended. The decision was made because the club was not satisfied with his performance in various matches.
On Thursday morning, in an interview with IGIHE, Twagirayezu Thaddée confirmed that the man is no longer the team’s coach.
He said, “We have parted ways. We agreed that we must part ways, we are going to get what we owe him.”
However, Lotfi’s side is not happy with this decision, given that the meeting that brought the two sides together on Wednesday did not confirm what will happen next after the coach’s suspension ends.
One of these reasons is that the coach has been suspended but has not yet been paid what the team owes him. It is said that Gikundiro wants to pay the coach two months, but his side also wants him to be paid the full amount of the contract due to non-compliance with its terms.
It is expected that if Rayon Sports does not comply with the coach’s demands, including returning to work, the coach will immediately terminate the contract, as another meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 13, with Gikundiro leaders in charge, as the first meeting included some who were not in charge.
Rayon Sports, with 13 points, is coached by Haruna Ferouz, who was Lotfi’s assistant coach, and is in second place in the Rwandan Championship through Day Seven.
