Rapper Sean Kingston Jailed for $1 Million Fraud Scheme

Sean Kingston, known for his hit song “Beautiful Girls”, has been handed a three and a half year federal prison sentence over his role in a million dollar fraud case.

Earlier this year, the rapper, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was convicted alongside his mother in a wire fraud scheme involving luxury goods worth over $1 million (£738,000).

The stolen items included high end watches, furniture, a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade, and a massive 232 inch LED television.

According to prosecutors, Kingston and his mother exploited his celebrity image to persuade victims to hand over expensive products, later sending fake wire transfer receipts instead of genuine payment.

Before the sentencing, Kingston expressed remorse in court and apologized, saying he had learned from his mistakes, US media reported.
