President Paul Kagame has arrived in Washington D.C., United States, where he attended the signing ceremony of an agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The ceremony is scheduled for December 4, 2025. President Kagame is also expected to meet with his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
The agreement to be signed is for economic cooperation between Rwanda and the DRC, and will reinforce others signed in Washington D.C. on June 27.
The United States explained that the economic cooperation agreement will be the last, indicating its confidence that it will help the Great Lakes region achieve lasting peace.

Other regional heads of state who attended Washington D.C. include Félix Tshisekedi of the DRC, Evariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi, and Dr. William Ruto, who heads Kenya and the East African Community (EAC).
Others expected in Washington include representatives from the Government of Qatar, Togo, and the African Union. All will attend the signing ceremony of the agreement.
