Nigeria: Aregbesola Predicts APC’s Downfall in 2027, Says Nigerians Are Ready for Change

Former Minister of Interior and current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose power in the 2027 general elections, citing what he called “obvious political signals.”

Speaking on Thursday in Ilorin during the commissioning of the ADC’s new state secretariat, Aregbesola stated that the ruling party has lost connection with the masses and is depending on intimidation to stay in power.

“If the APC truly believes it still has the people’s backing, it wouldn’t be going after opposition members so desperately,” he said. “All over the country from Lagos to Kebbi and Kaduna, our members are being harassed. These are not signs of strength but of fear.”

The former Osun State governor said the increasing popularity of the ADC among Nigerians shows a desire for change and growing disappointment with the current administration. He stressed that citizens are now more politically aware and ready to support a party that truly represents their interests.

.“By God’s grace, the ADC will take over power in 2027,” Aregbesola declared confidently. “The APC has failed to deliver on its promises, and Nigerians have had enough of empty words.”

He went on to label governors who recently joined the APC as “enemies of progress,” insisting that their defection will not improve the party’s image. “These governors are not accepted by the people,” he added.

Aregbesola reassured Nigerians that the ADC will field credible and competent candidates in the 2027 elections, pledging that the party will focus on transparency, accountability, and genuine good governance.
