Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Professional Footballers’ Association men’s player of the year, while Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers scooped the young player of the year prize.
Former England boss Sir Gareth Southgate was also honoured, receiving the 2025 PFA merit award in recognition of his contributions to football and his success with the national team.
At 33, Salah becomes the first player ever to claim the PFA accolade three times, after playing a pivotal role in guiding Liverpool to the league title last season.
Reflecting on his journey, the Egyptian forward said: “Of course I wanted to be a football player and I wanted to be famous and provide for my family, but you don’t think about the big stuff when you are still in Egypt.
“When you grow, you start to see things differently and you start to have ambition and you start to see the bigger picture.”
Salah topped the Premier League scoring charts in 2024-25, netting 29 goals and supplying 18 assists.
