A wave of excitement swept through Bangkok as Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico earned the title of Miss Universe 2025, delivering a powerful win in the midst of a highly turbulent competition.
The 25-year-old beauty queen became the emotional centerpiece of the night after enduring public humiliation from one of the event’s hosts. Even under pressure, she stayed calm and dignified, and ultimately rose to claim the crown.
After her victory, Bosch expressed her desire to be remembered as someone who “shifted the idea of what a Miss Universe should be, and as a genuine person who leads with heart.”
Tension around the pageant intensified when a harsh reprimand aimed at Bosch drew global backlash, triggering a walkout, widespread feminist support, and a highly emotional public apology from the organizer involved.
In spite of the uproar, Bosch stood strong. Thailand’s 29-year-old Praveenar Singh secured the first runner-up spot, while Venezuela’s Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser finished in third place.
