Eddie Murphy Says Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson Learn Best by Watching in Upcoming Film “The Pickup”

Eddie Murphy shared that he didn’t feel the need to offer direct advice to his co-stars Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson during the filming of the new Prime Video movie The Pickup.

He praised both actors as some of the most talented young stars in Hollywood today, noting that the greatest lessons often come through observation.“Generally, we learn by watching,” Murphy explained. “When you admire someone, you observe their actions and methods rather than focusing solely on their words.”

Directed by Tim Story, the film follows two armored car drivers, portrayed by Davidson and Murphy, who are caught off guard by a ruthless crew of criminals.

Murphy’s legacy continues to shape projects like The Pickup, as co-stars like Keke Palmer and other emerging Black actors thrive in the industry. While Murphy acknowledges his role in expanding opportunities for Black entertainers, he doesn’t dwell on it.

“I know that my films have paved the way and opened some doors. But I don’t spend my time fixating on it,” he said. The Pickup is set to debut on August 6th on Amazon Prime Video.
