A disturbing medical negligence case has come back into the spotlight in the UK, where a consultant anaesthetist allegedly left a patient under anaesthetic on the operating table to have sex with a nurse in another room, which have sparked outrage.
According to reports first published on 11 September 2025, 44 year old Dr. Suhail Anjum walked out of surgery midway at Tameside Hospital in Greater Manchester in September 2023.
He reportedly told colleagues he needed a “comfort break” but was later discovered in a “compromising position” with an unnamed nurse, referred to as Nurse C, in a different operating theatre.
Since the incidence happened, the story has circulated over social media platforms, with countless users expressing disappointment over the shocking breach of trust and questioning whether Dr. Anjum should ever be allowed to return to medical practice.
