Djibril Ouattara resumed training ahead of APR FC’s match against Rayon Sports

APR FC striker Cheikh Djibril Ouattara has resumed training after a two-month absence due to illness and could feature in Saturday’s match against Rayon Sports.

Ouattara fell ill during the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania in early September, withdrawing from the tournament and has not played since.

After receiving treatment in Rwanda, Morocco and his home in Burkina Faso, the player, who arrived in Kigali on Friday, has resumed training.

In photos released by APR FC on Tuesday evening, Ouattara was seen training alone and wearing non-football shoes.

APR had previously said that the player would resume training on November 10, but sources say that if he proves to be in good health, he could play in the Rayon Sports match on Saturday.

This highly anticipated match will see APR in eighth place with eight points while Rayon Sports has 13 points in second place.

The black and white team will also have Ronald Ssekiganda back after missing the Rutsiro FC match due to a red card while Bigirimana Abedi has already resumed training after missing Rayon Sports’ win over Marine FC last week.
