At the ninth edition of the Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition, held in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, from Thursday to Friday, Chinese technologies took center stage, sparking deeper exploration of China-Africa cooperation in the low altitude economy.
With the theme “Collaborating to unlock Africa’s growth – How can Africa deliver a sustainable aviation industry?” the summit drew 1,700 aviation professionals who exchanged insights on the challenges facing Africa’s aviation sector and the new opportunities emerging from advanced technologies. More than 100 companies also showcased their latest cutting edge products.
In his opening remarks, Rwandan President Paul Kagame explained that the high cost of air travel remains a major problem to tourism and connectivity across the continent.
He also emphasized that opening Africa’s skies is essential to serve citizens better, businesses, and the broader economy, urging governments and industry leaders to work together in making aviation more affordable and sustainable.
