Cardi B Wins Big as Jury Tosses Out $24M Assault Lawsuit

Rap star Cardi B has been cleared of assault allegations in a $24 million civil case brought by security guard Emani Ellis.

The case dated back to a 2018 encounter outside a Beverly Hills doctor’s office, where Ellis accused Cardi B of scratching her with fingernails and spitting on her.

But after less than an hour of deliberation, the jury ruled in Cardi B’s favor, finding her not liable for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, or false imprisonment.

Throughout the trial, Cardi B denied the claims, explaining that Ellis trailed her, recorded her on a phone, and refused to respect her personal space.

At the time of the incident, Cardi B was four months pregnant and trying to keep her pregnancy private, a move that led the clinic to close its doors for the day.
