A British Army investigation has revealed that some soldiers stationed at a controversial base in Kenya are still engaging the services of sex workers, despite an official ban.
According to the report, personnel at the British Army Training Unit Kenya (Batuk) were found to be using sex workers “at a low or moderate” level, with the findings noting that more needs to be done to completely eliminate the practice.
The probe reviewed activities at the base happening for more than two years, dating back to July 2022.
It began in October 2024 after an ITV investigation raised concerns about the behaviour of soldiers at Batuk, including allegations that some were paying local women for sex.
