A 34-year-old Hungarian man, Szabolcs Csépe, has broken a record of six days spent dancing to the dance game Dance Dance Revolution.
The record was set more than 10 years ago by Carrie Swidecki, who danced for five days (138 seconds and 34 seconds), and Csépe broke it after spending more than 144 hours.
The man said he has been playing the game for about 20 years, but at some point it has become more than just a hobby.
“My enemies know that I like to compete. Standing for hours is not something that people are used to, but there is nothing more energizing than dancing or exercising to your favorite music.”
Dance Dance Revolution is a Japanese game released in 1998, in which the player enters the desired dance moves and then follows the rhythm and patterns on the screen.
During this competition, Csépe danced to 3,000 songs and lost more than 2 kilograms (22,000 calories), only taking breaks.
The Guinness Book of Records rules state that in such competitions, a person is allowed ten minutes after every hour to eat, use the bathroom, or rest.
